Ginger Jarosek is in her 29th year of teaching and her 24th year as the Tex-Ann Director and dance teacher at Crockett High School in Austin, TX. She is a graduate of Wm. B. Travis HS in Austin where she was a three-year member of the Rebelette dance team. She was a Jr. lieutenant and then Captain her senior year. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Learning and Development with a minor in English and a specialization in Special Education. Ginger began her career teaching special education at Campbell Elementary. She then taught for four years at Travis HS as assistant director of the Rebelettes for two years, co -director for two years and special education teacher. Ginger received her dance certification in 1995. She has been honored each year since 1999 as a Who’s Who among America’s High School Teachers. Ginger was a member of the HTE 1999 Sugar Bowl Choreography team. She is a certified audition and competition judge. She has been a member of DTDA since 1995 and TDEA since 1997. Ginger served two years on the executive board of the Drill Team Director’s of America. In 2002, she was honored by her peers as one of the Top Ten Directors of America at the national convention of DTDA. She is active in district planning for dance and curriculum and is the Fine Arts department chair at Crockett. She is a regional representative for TDEA and is in charge of the summer workshop for area dance educators. She and her husband Joe are the proud parents of Camille.
Amanda Caldwell is in her 14th year of teaching. She is the Odyssey/Focus teacher, Dance II-IV teacher, & Tex-Ann assistant director at Crockett High School in Austin, TX. She is a 2003 graduate of Westlake High School in Austin where she was a two-year member of the Hyline dance team. She graduated from Texas State University, San Marcos in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dance. While at Texas State University, Amanda was a member of the Texas State Strutters for three years. As a Strutter she got the opportunity to perform at half times during the San Antonio Spurs games as well as travel to Monterrey, Mexico to perform in their Super Classic Fútbol Grand Opening in front of an audience of more than 50,000 fans. She was also very active in the dance department at Texas State, taking part in various student and faculty pieces as well as dancing in the department’s performance company, Orchesis. She still enjoys taking classes when possible. In addition to her dance degree she is also Physical Education K-12 certified, Special Education K-12 certified, and first aid & CPR/AED certified. She has been a member of TDEA (Texas Dance Educators Association) since 2008 and is extremely happy to be at Crockett working in the Special Education and Fine Arts departments.
